The best-reviewed comedy film of the year thus far and still presently my personal favourite film of 2009, Armando Iannucci's "In the Loop", was of course a film spin-off of his brilliant "The Thick of It" series featuring many of the same actors & characters such as Peter Capaldi's obscenity-spewing spin doctor Malcolm Tucker.
After a six-episode first season in 2005, and two hour-long specials in 2007, the show is back for an eight-episode second season which has just announced a kick off air date of October 24th on BBC2 in the UK. Each episode will be repeated later each week on BBC4. Sadly no word as yet on US airdates.
