Bee Season: "Kate Bosworth has taken a small but pivotal role in Fox Searchlight drama "Bee Season," which is about to begin production with directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel. Bosworth, the "Blue Crush" star who just opened in "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!," will play that temptress, a member of a Hare Krishna-like cult..." (more info). Bewitched: "Ending a month of speculation, Nicole Kidman has made a pay-or-play deal to star with Will Ferrell in "Bewitched" for Columbia Pictures. Nora Ephron will direct a comedy she scripted based on the classic TV series about a mortal man married to a fetching witch. Red Wagon partners Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher are producing. Shooting will start this summer..." (more info). Brat Farrar: "Ben Affleck is set to star in an adaptation of Josephine Tey's novel "Brat Farrar" for Universal Pictures. "Fight Club" scribe Jim Uhls is on board to pen the script. Tome, adapted into U's 1963 release "Paranoiac," is a twisting tale following siblings of an old-money family fighting for the inheritance from their recently deceased father..." (more info). Sunshine: "Danny Boyle and his "28 Days Later" scribe Alex Garland, are back in business with U.K.-based DNA Films and its financial partner, Fox Searchlight. Garland has just sold his spec sci-fi thriller "Sunshine" with Boyle attached to direct. Described as reminiscent of Henri-Georges Clouzot's 1953 pic "The Wages of Fear" (which followed men hired to transport an urgently needed shipment of high explosives without the equipment that would make it safe to do so), "Sunshine" follows a similarly fraught mission in space..." Cinderella Man: "English actor Paddy Considine ("In America") is in negotiations to make his major studio debut starring opposite Russell Crowe in Universal Pictures/Miramax Films' period boxing project. Considine would star as Hank, Braddock's best friend and fellow dockworker..." (more info). Outward Blonde: "Hilary Duff has committed to star in Miramax Films' comedy "Outward Blonde," the company confirmed. The project, sold to the mini-major as a pitch by Kayla Alpert in June 2000, centers on a materialistic New York girl who gets sent on an Outward Bound program after she fails gym class. Walden Media's Next: "The company behind "Holes" and the upcoming "Around the World in 80 Days" said Wednesday that it has acquired rights to Katherine Paterson's "Bridge to Terabithia" as well as Australian author Wendy Orr's "Nim's Island." Walden also has tapped "Antz" co-writer Todd Alcott to adapt another children's novel, "The Giver," for the silver screen..." (more info). Arwin Meiwes Biopic: Las Horas Perdidas indicates Hugh Grant is doggedly pursuing the dramatic lead role as the famed German cannibal. Various major Hollywood stars (most notably Brad Pitt) are tipped to play the victim whose penis was severed and then the pair ate it together after frying it in garlic, salt & pepper.

Mr. 3000: Screencaps from the new trailer are up at The Trades. The Dead Zone (TV): Coming Soon reports that Sarah Wynter has been signed to guest star in a six-episode arc. Wynter begins shooting this week in Vancouver on the first two episodes, which will launch the series' third season as a special two-part premiere in June.

Watchmen: Cinescape has the first casting rumours for the comic adaptation - Sigourney Weaver as the Silk Spectre, Daniel Craig as Rorschach.
