As there's still no RSS feed for the trailers section, I've decided to start a regular compendium article to be posted once or twice week (depending upon the amount released) of the big trailers that have hit online.
The trailers section will still be the place to go for up to the minute trailers, clips, TV spots, etc. but these articles will help those who're curious but simply don't have the time to download everything or want to know more about the trailers before checking them out. I hope you like:
The Twilight Saga: New Moon
After two very lacklustre teasers (who the hell approved that 'Meet Jacob Black' amateur hour?), the new trailer for the "Twilight" sequel finally delivers for fans and non-fans alike. Scheduled to air on MTV shortly, the preview has already leaked online and is considerably better than its predecessors - well cut, exciting, good music, and gives us at least a small insight into the plot.

A Single Man
The film debut of American fashion designer and former Gucci/Yves Saint-Laurent creative director Tom Ford, the trailer gives us a first glimpse at his cinematic style. While his framing is oddly off or too close in some shots, other scenes are really very picturesque and beautiful.
This dialogue-free montage of disjointed images shows off hints about the plot (a college professor grapples with solitude after his longtime partner dies) and the stellar cast including Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Lee Pace, Matthew Goode and Nicholas Hoult. Firth who won an acting award in Venice the other week for his work here.
Anti-Christ
The US trailer for Lars Von Trier's controversial drama of loss, nature in chaos, misogyny and genital mutilation is out and conveys the sheer strangeness of the project. I saw the film the other week and will be reviewing it shortly, suffice it to say that aside from the cheap horror shock moments and pretty visuals it's actually very mediocre.

Van Diemen's Land
Last year the Aussie indie horror "Dying Breed", one of the worst films I've ever seen, portrayed Tasmania as a grim place full of inbred cannibalistic hicks.
This year the often picturesque but remote island gets a hopefully better and certainly more interesting treatment with this period thriller about the true story of group of convicts escaping and trying to survive the harsh wilderness.
There's also some cannibalism thrown in as well, what is it about that island?
Solomon Kane
A Russian-language version leaked the other day, now comes the English one which gives us an impressive first look at the sword-and-sorcery epic adaptation of "Conan" author Robert E. Howard's stories.
Unlike "Conan" though, there's no busty maidens or cheese - James Purefoy as a very Van Helsing-looking mercenary takes on supernatural creatures with a deadly serious tone. The film cost $40 million but looks like it was made for more than that.
Surrogates
The Bruce Willis-led sci-fi robot thriller is about to open and so here's the last trailer - very similar to the previous ones but with some new graphics and a bunch more quick cut action scene shots.

Takers
Paul Walker, Idris Elba, Matt Dillon, Hayden Christensen, Chris Brown, Zoe Saldana and a few others in what's essentially a big lo' heist action thriller set in Los Angeles. The villain also seems to be hanging out in that really nice $9.5 million house up on LA's Sierra Mar Drive.
