Al Pacino Turns Prosecution Witness

By Garth Franklin Thursday December 2nd 2004 09:18PM

Al Pacino could be all set to play a lawyer again for the MGM remake of the classic "Witness for the Prosecution" according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pacino has apparently shown interest in the project, based on the Agatha Christie play, which was filmed in 1957 with Billy Wilder at the helm and Charles Laughton as the lead attorney in a case in which a wife appears as a witness for the prosecution against her husband. "The Practice" and "Boston Legal" creator David E. Kelley will handle the screen adaptation. Pacino's decision will likely depend on the choice of director, so preliminary discussions have begun with Robert Benton ("The Human Stain"). Thanks to 'Wassup'.
