Lohan Loves The Bug Set

By Garth Franklin Thursday December 2nd 2004 06:19PM

In an on-set interview with MTV, Lindsay Lohan spoke about her involvement in the upcoming reinvention of the "Herbie: The Love Bug" franchise entitled "Herbie: Fully Loaded" which takes place in the world of NASCAR and is set to open next Summer.

Lohan describes the film as a remake rather than a sequel - "It's basically about a car that comes to life but not in a cheesy way. The car just, you know, it takes off with me in it. There's all these crazy driving scenes in it. ... It's kinda like a racing movie, I guess you could say -- a lot of NASCAR driving and stuff in it, so that's really cool".

The scene they were shooting that day is where she learns that the car is alive: "I found a friend who works in a mechanic shop and I meet up with him and I get in the car and the car kind of takes off on me with me in it. And he gets in the car and we are going to take it for a test drive and it takes off with me and him in it again and it takes me to a car show because it knows that I'm a racer apparently we come to this car show and it's really embarrassing 'cause this car is all beat up and it's, like, clunking in. It ends up doing some damage to someone else's car as well so"

The most difficult scene for her was a shoot in the desert area of Acton and Fontana in California - "At the NASCAR races they're wearing the full suits, the NASCAR suits. And luckily, thank God, got to take the lining out of ours. But it was over a hundred degrees and it was just like you're sweating to death...that was probably the worst part. Everything else has been really fun".
