The novelisation of the final Star Wars film is scheduled for an April 2nd 2005 release and adapts the story of Anakin's fall to the dark side. Novelist Matthew Stover met with George Lucas to discuss the storyline of the film, and result from that meeting is that the novel will include new sequences that won't be found in theaters.
Stover also apparently "gets inside the heads of the characters, and depicts these dramatic events from their points of view". There will be a hardcover and simultaneous audio release on CD and cassette. Early artwork is included below, though it's far from the final look of the cover:
