Schumacher & Farrell Reteaming?

By Garth Franklin Monday November 22nd 2004 12:46AM

He kicked off his career in "Tigerland", he cemented his star status in "Phone Booth", now could Joel Schumacher and Irish sex genius Colin Farrell be teaming again for another project? Here's the scoop from 'Sting Ray':

"Just went to a National Board of Review (a ridiculous bunch of elistist film fans) screening of 'The Phantom of the Opera,' which was attended by the cast, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber & Joel Schumacher.  I briefly met Schumacher and congratulated him on 'Tigerland' - I'd been meaning to do that for some time, it was fun to be able to, even though I probably was a silly ass.

Anyways, he did impart on those who attended his intention to do another small film with Colin Farrell as soon as is possible, this time it would be a psychological film about a man's descent into madness. If it shoots in New York, you can rest assured I'll try my hardest to work on the set.

Oh, as for 'Phantom', I thought it was a rather lumbering adaptation, faithful to a fault, with some marvellous sequences and production values but lacking the kind of innovation that might have won over audiences not inclined to see unabashedly romantic musicals with wall-to-wall singing."

Thanks again to 'Stingray'
