Author Irvine Welsh ("Trainspotting") is set to helm soccer comedy "The Magnificent Eleven" for Angry Badger Pictures says Variety.
This modernization of classic western "The Magnificent Seven" centers on a local amateur soccer team, a Tandoori restaurant and a group of menacing thugs.
Welsh will work with the father-son writing team Pete and John Adams on the next draft of the screenplay and filming kicks off later this year.
