Linda Goldstein Knowlton and Linda Hawkins will direct and produce the documentary, which examines the history of the children's program as well as its cultural, political and social impact around the globe..." (full review) "Buena Vista Intl. and production company Harbour Pictures have reteamed for bawdy British comedy, "The Kinky Boot Factory." Directed by Julian Jarrold, the pic will co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor ("Dirty Pretty Things") and young Aussie Joel Edgerton. Edgerton plays Charlie Price, who reluctantly inherits an almost bankrupt shoe factory after his father's death. A chance encounter with a transvestite cabaret star (Ejiofor) gives Charlie the idea to save the factory by manufacturing erotic women's boots, to the dismay of his workforce. Paramount's also in talks with Walden Media to co-finance and produce.
