'MP' drops in this report:
"They've been filming in my town for a week and a half now. Kinda cool to see them making a movie about the ghost story I grew up with and something that everyone in town is familiar with. It's a small town and we don't see much excitement so everyone's buzzing with what's going on....
Anyway, they spent all last week filming the "group" scenes, anything involving extras, and now they've moved on to shooting the more intimate scenes between the principal actors. They're using three houses in town to double as the homes in the movie and are filming all of their scenes there now.
Tthe actors in the movie that I'm aware of are Julie Delpy, Justin Theroux, Brooke Adams, Michele Green (from LA Law- she plays a neighbor), and Jamie Donnelly (she's playing the "crazy" old lady in this movie). I know Julie Delpy was only hired for 14 days of shooting so I assume they are cramming in all her scenes since she is the main character. Justin Theroux (who plays her husband) is filming for the same amount of time as far as I know.
The scenes they shot last week were scenes with Justin and the actor playing his children at our church (Julie wasn't in the scenes - apparently she resents her husband for moving them to Princeton). they also filmed a town meeting scene, a scene with Julie doing research at the library, a ghost tour at the cemetery, and a scene in a coffee shop.
Our coffee shop is no longer open but they renovated it and made it look like a working cofee shop again, patrons and all. Julie was in that scene, and she was having a discussion with Jamie Donnelly about how hard it is to lose a child (her character has lost a baby to SIDS). It was kind of cool to see how the whole process works"
