William Hurt has joined the cast of Ridley Scott's upcoming "Robin Hood" project at Universal Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
Brian Helgeland penned the action-drama which takes a more realistic tone in its take on the famed outlaw.
Hurt would William Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke, a historical figure who was one of the most powerful men in Europe.
Marshall was a servant to the Plantagenet kings and one of the best jousters of the era.
Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Vanessa Redgrave, Mark Strong, Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand, Alan Doyle, Oscar Isaacs and Lea Seydoux all star in the film which just began shooting in the UK.
