The West Coast Canadian city of Vancouver is still more of a filmmaking haven than pretty much anywhere else in the world right now and the Hollywood North Report chimes in today with details on assorted projects about to begin shooting:
"Bob The Butler" Vancouver can now rack up the new John Cleese feature to its slate; also staring Angie Harmon ("Law & Order", "Agent Cody Banks") and Craig Ferguson ("Saving Grace", "The Drew Carey Show"). Filming is set for February 16 thru March 19th 2004 under the direction of Bob Spiers ("Fawlty Towers", "Spice World").
"Premonition" Directed by Jonas Quastel ("Sasquatch", "Ripper II") and set to shoot February 1st thru February 18th. No word on casting yet but the IMDb has the following story synopsis listed: "After a violent car wreck nearly takes his life, Detective Jack Barnes begins having inexplicable and terrifying premonitions of horrible disasters. At first his warning calls go unheeded, but as the premonitions begin to come true Jack is shocked to find himself wanted for questioning by the FBI. He goes on the run, narrowly avoiding both the FBI and a band of terrorists on the verge of unleashing a deadly attack. As he scrambles to unlock the meaning of the visions, he must race against the clock to stop the terrorists before they can strike again." The script was written by Will Stewart and Michael Derbas will be producing.
"Stargate: Atlantis" The spin-off series has firmed up their shooting dates; now set for February 23rd thru October 21st 2004 at The Bridge Studios in Burnaby.
"Lost in Space" The WB Network's long in development remake of the Irwin Allen fantasy-adventure drama from Fox Television Studios and 20th Century Fox TV is set to shoot March 2nd thru March 17th at Vancouver Film Studios. The pilot is being directed by none other than John Woo ("Paycheck", "Mission Impossible II") who is also producing. Woo's next project was supposed to be Land Of Destiny starring Nicolas Cage and Yun-Fat Chow but that is likely pushed back. Also producing is Kevin Burns, Jon Jashni ("King Conan: Crown of Iron"), Terrence Chang ("Mission: Impossible II", "Face/Off"), Suzanne Zizzi, John P. Kousakis and Douglas Petrie ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") who also wrote the script.
"Blade: Trinity" Its now officially wrapped and David Goyer has moved on to post-production.
