At a press conference for his latest film, "National Treasure", actor Nicolas Cage revealed to LatinoReview that his playing the role of "Ghost Rider" is still not set in stone. Cage has been attached for many years now to the project, long through its troubled development. Yet now with filming set to begin shortly in Melbourne, the star has distanced himself slightly from the feature:
"I'm still in talks about that particular movie. It's not a definite at this point. It's really just a matter of the vision of the movie and how it will be portrayed, talks about script and things like that. It's true that I was involved with Ghost Rider over three years ago and was trying to develop it with another filmmaker. These things are very sensitive. It's a bullseye and you really have to hit it. Otherwise it may not work. So it's best for everyone to be cautious and make sure its got the right auspices."
Cage says if this doesn't happen though, he's giving up on trying to be a superhero - "I think if this doesn't work, that's pretty much it. I've never made a comic book film and I'll just sort of enjoy my nostalgic memories as a boy. I don't read them any more. It's something that really came from the past."
Thanks to 'Kellvin'.
