Ellen DeGeneres has signed on to play Mother Nature in an untitled comedy for Walden Media says The Hollywood Reporter.
"Sex and the City" writer-executive producer Jenny Bicks is penning the story in which Mother Nature will return to Earth for the first time since the planet's creation.
The company is fast-tracking the film to begin shooting this Summer in L.A. while DeGeneres is on hiatus. DeGeneres' last live-action film roles were in 1999 for "EDtv" and "The Love Letter."
