The Daleks are back. Those cylindrical metal menaces with the famous "Exterminate!" catch phrase appear in the new series of "Doctor Who" starring Christopher Eccleston as the ninth incarnation of the time-travelling Gallifreyan.
Today, the first photos of the metal beasties on-set have arrived both here and over at the UK paper The Sun which took shots of them in action against some gun-toting soldiers. There's also a good comparison photo of the minor differences between the old and new models, most notably a jet pack, a gold plating and generally more elaborate detail on the outside (otherwise though, they're the same):
