Things seem to be hot in the UK right now, 'Cold Ridge' drops in an update on "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" currently filming at Pinewood Studios:
"They're doing flashback scenes with Wonka's Dad (Christopher Lee) this week, so they (Depp & Lee) are together - it's looking so beautifully similar to the Vincent Price scenes on 'Edward Scissorhands' it's scary. Incidentally, Christopher Lee is mixing Wonka with filming a remake of 'Greyfriar's Bobby' in Scotland, he's playing the Lord Provost. Danny Elfman is around the production at the moment, heard talk that "Corpse Bride" scenes have screened. Also, a design department is starting up shortly on Stephen Sommers' "Flash Gordon""
After that, 'Jack' drops in this short report from the Colin Farrell explorer drama "The New World":
"They've just finished a day's filming for The New World at the Bodleian Library in Oxford. There were a substantial number of extras, several horse-drawn carriages and horses etc. and interstingly, they used fire appliances to make the entire area wet before filming.
They also applied dirt to the street in front of the library's main entrance to make it appear like a dirt road. They appeared to be filming both outside in the street, in the exposed courtyard between the Bod and the Sheldonian Theatre and inside, although they may just have been using the internal courtyard".
Finally, word comes that Disney execs were blown away by a rough cut of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" screened last week described as a 'real trip'. There's also a June 2005 tentative start of production date scheduled for "Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix"
Thanks again to 'CR' & 'Jack'
