Variety reports that Miguel Arteta ("The Good Girl") has signed to direct the DreamWorks comedy "Date School." Scripted by Abby Cohn and Mark Silverstein, the story concerns a woman who's unlucky in love and turns to a dating instructor for help. Arteta is the latest to board the project, which previously had Tim Story and Jon Favreau attached to direct. At one point Owen Wilson and Drew Barrymore were slated to star.

John Curran ("We Don't Live Here Anymore") will direct "Five Dollars a Day" for New Line Cinema according to THR. Nick Cassavetes, who was attached to direct, is now helming "Alpha Dog," instead. Written by Neal H. Dobrofsky and Tippi Dobrofsky, "Dollars" revolves around a son who is forced to reunite with his con artist father for a cross-country odyssey. Thanks to 'KarlChilders'
