Paramount has signed LL Cool J to star opposite Queen Latifah in its remake of "Last Holiday," directed by Wayne Wang according to Variety. Production is slated to begin next month in New Orleans and then move to Prague. "Last Holiday" will be an update of the 1950 comedy starring Alec Guinness, with Latifah portraying a shy sales clerk who takes off for a European vacation after learning she has a terminal illness.
Meanwhile, Paramount has also put Greg Kinnear in its lineup opposite Billy Bob Thornton for the remake of "The Bad News Bears" according to Variety. The comedy, with Richard Linklater directing is expected to begin lensing next month for a 2005 release. "The Bad News Bears" has been holding casting tryouts in recent weeks for young thesps with baseball skills in a variety of locales.
