As a result of his commitment to both the new Australian pic "Candy" and later two "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels which start shooting March through til year's end, Geoffrey Rush has been forced to withdraw from "Eucalyptus" - the new film he was to shoot with Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman according to Moviehole.
The scheduling of the 'Caribbean' sequels only happened this month, creating a scheduling conflict for Rush. Earlier the Australian press reported that "Fox Searchlight is currently working with Geoffrey to see whether his schedule can be changed to incorporate Eucalyptus, but it looks as though they may be having some problems, given he is already committed to those other projects early next year".
Now, it has been confirmed that Rush has definitely pulled out and the role is being recast. The decision was made at the end of last week.
