Annette Bening and Naomi Watts will headline Rodrigo Garcia's multi-layered drama "Mother and Child" for Mockingbird Films reports Variety.
Through overlapping stories, the $7 million feature follows a woman who gave up her daughter 35 years ago and an African-American woman who is looking to adopt.
Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps also star. Filming begins in Los Angeles in the first quarter of next year.
The project was previously setup at Cha Cha Cha with Focus Films and Universal.
