Peter Webber ("The Girl With the Pearl Earring") will direct the exotic romantic drama "The Spider's House" says Variety.
Based on a novel by Paul Bowles, the story is about two American former lovers whose paths cross in the Moroccan city of Fez in the 1950s, as clashes between pro-independence insurgents and French colonial overlords escalate.
Laurie Cooke adapted the property for the screen and Timothy Burrill produces. Shooting is scheduled to start in Morocco early next year.
