Regency has inked a deal to develop its first computer-generated animated feature, based on bestselling kids book "Ollie the Otter" by Kelly Alan Williamson according to Variety.

The story follows a courageous sea otter who leads a group of domesticated sea park friends to open water to save his family from perishing at the hands of a rogue and vain killer whale.

Meanwhile, the trade also reports that Miramax has sealed a pact with Pathe Pictures Intl. to acquire distribution rights to animated feature "Sprung! The Magic Roundabout" for North and South America. In post-production and set to be completed in January, "Sprung" is based on the vintage U.K. puppet TV series of the same name.

Tom Baker, Jim Broadbent, Joanna Lumley, Bill Nighy, Ian McKellen, Robbie Williams, Ray Winstone, and Kylie Minogue all star in the fantasy tale of four unlikely heroes who must step forward to recover three magic diamonds, reverse the onset of a brutal winter and return the evil ice sorcerer Zeebad to his prison beneath the ground.
