Song of Kali: "Screenwriter Lucas Sussman will adapt Dan Simmons' novel Song of Kali for Darren Aronofsky's New Regency-based Protozoa Pictures. Aronofsky and Eric Watson will produce the film, which follows an American poet who travels with his Indian wife and their baby to Calcutta..." (more info). The Interpreter: "The United Nations probably will allow director Sydney Pollack to make a feature film on its premises. The movie is to star Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Kidman would play a Kenyan-born U.N. interpreter who overhears an assassination plot, becomes a target herself and helps stop the killing of an African leader addressing the U.N. General Assembly.

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan has given permission in principle and that the conclusion of "The Interpreter" was consistent "with U.N. values." ..." (more info). Walk On: "Singer and Newlyweds star Jessica Simpson will make her feature film debut in Walk On, an ensemble baseball biopic to be directed by Walter Hill. Keith Carradine, Sophie B. Hawkins and Donal Logue are also in talks to join the cast.Variety says the independently financed production is scheduled to begin next year on locations in New Mexico and Texas..." (more info).

Resident Evil: Afterlife: Cinepop indicates that Milla Jovavich is already signed on for "Resident Evil: Afterlife" which is to be released in 2006 as long as "Apocalypse" does well.
