Robert Luketic is in negotiations to direct the big-screen version of the hit TV show "Dallas" for Regency Enterprises according to The Hollywood Reporter. Michael Costigan and the TV series' creator David Jacobs are producing, with Peter Cramer overseeing for Regency. Robert Harling, whose credits include 1989's "Steel Magnolias," wrote the screenplay.
The long-running primetime soap about a wealthy Texas oil family originally ran on CBS from 1978-91. Luketic is in postproduction on New Line Cinema's "Monster-in-Law," starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda, which will be released next year. He also has directed "Win a Date With Ted Hamilton!" and "Legally Blonde."
