Singer & Caviezel Fly Over Superman

By Garth Franklin Wednesday October 13th 2004 04:24PM

In an interview with AICN, Director Bryan Singer cleared up some nagging talk about the "Superman" production and discussing the plot a little - "It is a return story. It puts the first films in a kind of vague history. So what it doesn't do is tread over the 1978 Richard Donner film, it doesn't tread over "Smallville." It elaborates on the existence of Superman in the world in a history. He's out of the culture and then he returns"

The full interview in which Singer also talks about X3, his new TV series "House" and the remake of "Logan's Run" can be found here.

Meanwhile, IESB interviewed Jim Caviezel to clear up those rumours of his involvement in the project. Here's what he had to say -
"There have been no direct talks with Bryan Singer, all talks have been through mediators. It appeals to me a great deal, I haven't seen the script but I do like to play iconic characters, I see the role of Superman as a big responsibility and see it almost as a calling"
