Walt Disney Pictures has acquired "Stick It," a comedy set in the world of gymnastics written by Jessica Bendinger. Bendinger also will make her directorial debut on the feature according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story is about a renegade girl who imports the idea of rebellion into the regimented world of women's competitive gymnastics. The film will be released under Disney's Touchstone label.
Bendinger wrote the hit "Bring It On," which was set in the world of cheerleading. Producer Gail Lyon (Win a Date With Ted Hamilton!", "Peter Pan", "Erin Brockovich") is also attached.
