Zak Penn ("X-Men: The Last Stand," "The Incredible Hulk") will pen and produce "The Argonauts" for 20th Century Fox reports Variety.
In Greek mythology, the Argonauts were a band of heroic sailors who, in the years before the Trojan War, accompanied Jason to Colchis in his quest to find the Golden Fleece.
The Argonauts name comes from the sailors' ship, the Argo. The tale was most famously adapted before into a 1963 feature with Ray Harryhausen's classic stop-motion monsters, most notably an army of skeletons.
DreamWorks is also developing a similar project about a group of treasure hunters who discover the wreck of the mythological sunken ship Argo and are transported back in time.
