By Garth Franklin Thursday October 7th 2004 11:09PM

British helmer Richard Loncraine is reteaming with his "Wimbledon" star Paul Bettany on the Harrison Ford starrer "The Wrong Element," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Jon Forte script revolves around the security chief (Harrison) of a global bank whose family is kidnapped. Mark Pellington was originally on board to direct. In addition to "Wimbledon," Loncraine's credits include "Richard III," "Brimstone & Treacle" and "The Mission." The studio has yet to set a start date for the feature, which was due to shoot in the fall.

The trade also reports that James Vanderbilt ("The Rundown," "Basic") has come on board to write the screen adaptation of Richard Clarke's memoir of his days in the White House, "Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror," for Columbia Pictures.

The best seller follows
Clarke's reign as terrorism czar through three presidential administrations. Said Vanderbilt: "I'm very excited to be bringing it to the big screen. It's like an 'All the President's Men' for the 21st century. I'm going to be spending some time with Richard Clarke and getting to know him. The book doesn't give a lot away about him, but this will revolve around him".
