Regency Adapts Patterson's Daniel X

New Regency is planning a film adaptation of James Patterson's upcoming young-adult novel "The Dangerous Days of Daniel X" reports Variety.

"Daniel X" chronicles the adventures of a conflicted yet extraordinary teen who yearns to discover secrets about himself and his family as he battles alien outlaws who threaten life on Earth.

The book, the first in a series, hits stores in July. Patterson is best known for his novel series of murder thrillers with forensic psychologist Alex Cross, played twice on screen by Morgan Freeman in "Kiss the Girls" and "Along Came a Spider".
