Pink Panther Score & Progress Update

By Garth Franklin Wednesday September 29th 2004 10:13PM

"The Trenchant One" thought I'd be interested in this little morsel and well, the boy is right. He hears the following rumour:

"After screening The Pink Panther's rough cut for Sony executives, the

decision has apparently been made to scrap Christophe Beck's score. David Newman will likely replace him on the project.

MGM and Sony execs are also considering a release date shuffle with the Panther filling the Thanksgiving slot originally reserved for the new 007 (now looking at Summer 2006).

A title change is likely to position the Steve Martin comedy as the latest in the franchise, not a remake of the Peter Sellers original. All of the principals in front of and behind the camera have an option for a sequel which has been referred to around the office as The Bride of The Pink Panther"

Thanks again to 'TTO'.
