The Cured
IFC Films has scored North American distribution rights to the Ellen Page-led zombie film “The Cured” with a Spring 2018 release planned. David Freyne helms the film set in a future where zombies try to reintegrate with society after a plague infects mankind. Sam Keeley co-stars.

The Billion Dollar Heist
Endurance Media (“Mark Felt”) is set to package and finance the action thriller “The Billion Dollar Heist” penned by Chris and Charlie Frazier from a concept by Nico Mastorakis. Filming aims to begin Q1 2018.

The plot centers on a family of elite bank thieves who are tasked with the biggest heist in history – stealing $1 billion from the vault of London’s largest bank. Mastorakis will produce.

USA Network has set a November 7th premiere date for “Damnation,” the upcoming 1930s western crime saga series from “Hell or high Water” filmmaker David MacKenzie and “Logan” director James Mangold.

The story follows a man masquerading as a small town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. The local industrialist tycoon hires a professional strikebreaker to stop it – the catch is this enforcer is the estranged brother of the preacher.

Ride with Norman Reedus
AMC has announced the renewal of the reality series “Ride with Norman Reedus” for a third season to air in 2018. “The Walking Dead” star hits the pavement with friends and special guests, riding across the United States and abroad. The renewal comes ahead of the second season premiere on November 5th.

Kate Winslet, Taron Egerton, Rosamund Pike, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, Akiya Henry and Warwick Davis will lend their voices to the upcoming animated series “Moominvalley” based on the classic “Moomins” stories from Finland. Boasting 3D animated characters on 2D backgrounds, the thirteen-part series will launch in spring 2019.

Night School
“24” alum Mary Lynn Rajskub and former “The Daily Show” correspondent Rob Riggle have joined the cast of the Kevin Hart-led comedy “Night School” at Universal Pictures.

Tiffany Haddish, Yvonne Orji, and Taran Killam co-star in the film about a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in the longshot chance that they’ll pass the GED exam. Malcolm D. Lee directs.

Woody Allen’s Next
Liev Schreiber and Diego Luna are set to join Selena Gomez, Jude Law, Elle Fanning, Annaleigh Ashford, Rebecca Hall, Cherry Jones, Will Rogers, Kelly Rohrbach and Timothee Chalamet in Woody Allen’s next feature for Amazon Studios which will be released in 2018. Specifics of the plot and title are under wraps.

Untitled Netflix Polish Series
Oscar-nominated director Agnieszka Holland and filmmaker Kasia Adamik are set to team up to direct Netflix’s first Polish-language original series which is currently untitled.

The Kennedy/Marshall Company and The House Media Company are producing the eight-episode alternative history Cold War spy thriller for the streaming service set in 2002 in a world where the Iron Curtain never fell.

Jill Gordon (“My So-Called Life,’ “Heartbeat”) will replace show creator Jill Soloway as showrunner on Amazon’s “Transparent” series for next year’s fifth season. Soloway will remain onboard writing, directing and executive producing – she’s just not doing the show’s day-to-day running. Soloway is busy producing a potential pilot about female rodeo riders during World War Two along with the film “Ten Aker Wood”.

Lionsgate has purchased U.S. distribution rights to the Sandra Bullock-led action thriller “Vigilance” which regular “Narcos” episode helmer Josef Wladyka will direct and Joel Silver will produce.

The story follows an American who gets a job at a London armored car company that was the target of a robbery. Her motivations for working there grow more mysterious and tangled.

Lady Bird
Focus Features has acquired international rights to Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut “Lady Bird” which A24 and IAC Films will handle domestically. Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, Tracy Letts, Lucas Hedges, Timothee Chalamet and Odeya Rush co-star in the coming of age film which scored strong reviews on the Fall film circuit.

Kiefer Sutherland’s Nelson from the original Joel Schumacher “Flatliners” film can be glimpsed in a new TV spot for the upcoming remake hitting later this month.
