News Shorts: June 8th 2010

New stills from Wild Target, The Expendables, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the set of Cristiada, and more photos from the set of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows where the final sequences of the second part were recently shot.

The Licensing Expo is underway this month and very preliminary (and FAR from final) promo artwork for various upcoming 2011 and 2012 titles have been snapped. These include temp logos for Green Lantern, Men In Black 3, Spider-Man 3D, M:I-4, Footloose and Tintin.

Also from the Licensing Show are posters for Hop, The Lorax.

The first plot synopses for Puss in Boots and Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom.

The Weinstein Company has acquired North American theatrical rights from Pathe to “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” director Julian Schnabel’s latest film “Miral”. The film chronicles Hind Husseinis efforts to establish an orphanage in Jerusalem after the 1948 partition of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel. A late 2010 release is planned.

“Les Grossman, Tom Cruise’s movie mogul character from “Tropic Thunder” who performed with J-Lo at the MTV Movie Awards on the weekend, says that he’s hoping to do a full film based on the character – “We’re working on it. Yup, we’re working on it”…” (full details)
