Saban Films has acquired North American distribution rights to Rob Zombie’s horror thriller “31” and are planning a September 16th release. The story follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to survive for twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns.
Broad Green Pictures has moved up the release of Bryan Cranston-led drug drama “The Infiltrator” by seven weeks to July 15th. Cranston portrays an undercover U.S. Customs agent who became a pivotal player for drug lords in the 1980s after cleaning their dirty cash.
Finally, Roadside Attractions has set July 29th as the opening for coming-of-age drama “Indignation” starring Logan Lerman. The film will open in Los Angeles and New York, then expand during August.
Vince Curatola (” The Sopranos”) will play mayor Thomas Menino and James Colby (“Limitless”) will play police commissioner Bill Evans in Peter Berg’s Boston Marathon bombing drama “Patriots Day” at CBS Films and Lionsgate.
Menino was in his fifth term and 20th year in office when terrorists attacked the annual event in April 2013, while Evans ran in the race then helped plan and coordinate the hunt for the terrorists. Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons and Jimmy O. Yang also star in the film which opens December 21st. [Source: Deadline]
