Appearing at the Golden Globes on Sunday, actor Chris Hemsworth confirmed to MTV that he’s talked with “Star Trek” director J.J. Abrams about returning for the fourth film in the rebooted series: “I’ve spoken to J.J. Abrams, and he has an amazing pitch on the whole thing.” Hemsworth briefly played the father of James Kirk (Chris Pine) in the 2009 film. [Source: MTV]

Drake Doremus’ next film “Newness,” which was shooting in the Fall, is undergoing a super quick turnaround with confirmation that it will hit the Sundance Film Festival later this month.

Nicholas Hoult, Laia Costa, Danny Huston, Courtney Eaton, Matthew Gray Gubler and Albert Hammond Jr. star in the contemporary L.A. set story of two millennials navigating a social media–driven hookup culture and who begin a relationship that pushes both emotional and physical boundaries. Amy Schumer
Comedian Amy Schumer’s next stand-up special will launch globally on Netflix on March 7th. The special was taped this past November at Denver’s Bellco Theatre. It airs as her Comedy Central series, “Inside Amy Schumer,” takes an extended hiatus. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Pact
Universal has given its 2018 Leslie Mann-led R-rated comedy a new title – “The Pact”. The studio intends to keep the film on its previously announced April 20th 2018 release date. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver will produce.

Mann, Ike Barinholtz and John Cena star in Kay Cannon’s directorial debut which follows three parents who discover their daughters’ pact to lose their virginity at prom. They launch a covert one-night operation to stop the teens from closing the deal. [Source: THR]

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
Sony has released an interactive video tie-in for Paul W.S. Anderson’s “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter,” a clip titled “The Killing Floor 360° Experience” in which you play someone in a giant warehouse of undead hanging corpses.
