News Bits: Sausage, Founder, Hidden, Wake

Sausage Party
Sony Pictures is set to show a work-in-progress cut of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s adult animated feature “Sausage Party” at this month’s South by Southwest Film Festival – several months in advance of the film’s August 12th release.

Rogen, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd and Nick Kroll lead the voice cast for the film about talking supermarket foods in a film that is said to look like a Pixar film, but be NC-17 in terms of raunchy content. [Source: Deadline]

The Founder
The Weinstein Company has moved up “The Founder,” the Michael Keaton-led biopic about McDonalds franchise creator Ray Kroc. Originally slated for a limited release on November 25th, it will now open wide on August 5th. “Lion,” Garth Davis’ film adaptation of Saroo Brierley’s novel “The Long Way Home”, will take over the November 25th slot. Hidden Figures
Kevin Costner will join Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer in Ted Melfi’s drama “Hidden Figures” for Fox 2000 . Costner will play the head of the space program.

The story centers on Johnson (Henson), a brilliant African-American mathematician who, along with her colleagues, served as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. [Source: Variety]

Alan Wake
Reports coming in about Remedy’s upcoming video game “Quantum Break” indicate that the title is filled with easter egg references to the company’s acclaimed title “Alan Wake” and suggests a sequel is in the works. Not only that, ‘Quantum’ also boasts a cinematic trailer for a live-action “Alan Wake” adaptation. [Source: Polygon]
