Patriot’s Day
Coming off raves for his performance in “10 Cloverfield Lane,” John Goodman has been cast as former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis in CBS Films and Lionsgate’s 2013 Boston Marathon bombing thriller “Patriots Day”.

The Peter Berg-helmed film chronicles the events surrounding the bombing. Mark Wahlberg plays a Boston cop central to the investigation and manhunt to find the bombers. J.K. Simmons also stars in the film which opens December 21st. [Source: Variety]

Hidden Figures
Kirsten Dunst will join Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, and Kevin Costner in the Ted Melfi-directed “Hidden Figures” for Fox 2000. The untold true story tale follows the African-American female mathematicians at NASA who provided the calculations that helped fuel some of America’s greatest achievements in space. He’s Out There
Screen Gems has set Dennis Iliadis (“The Last House on the Left”) to direct the thriller “He’s Out There” for Unbroken Pictures. Bryan Bertino and Adrienne Biddle will produce.

Mike Scannell penned the story of a mother and her two young daughters who, visiting their remote lake house, must fight for survival after falling into a terrifying and bizarre nightmare conceived by a homicidal psychopath. [Source: Deadline]

Bye Bye Man
STX has moved the release of its horror-thriller “Bye Bye Man” forward by four months – from October 14th to June 3rd. Carrie-Anne Moss, Faye Dunaway, Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount and Douglas Jones star.

The story deals with the terrifying events experienced by three Wisconsin college students who move into an old house off campus and unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. The friends must try to save each other and keep the entity’s existence a secret to save others from the same deadly fate. [Source: Variety]
