News Bits: Midnight, Eichman, Zootopia, Ant-Man

Midnight Special
The first photo is out from “Mud” and “Take Shelter” director Jeff Nichols’ forthcoming sci-fi chase thriller “Midnight Special” starring Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton and Kirsten Dunst. Details remain scarce about the film other than it involved a young boy with “special gifts” with the adults playing the family that wants to protect film. Also involved are Sam Shepard as a religious nut and Adam Driver as a government agent. [Source: EW]

Untitled Eichman Project
MGM has picked up an untitled thriller spec script by British scribe Matthew Orton. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Automatik will produce the film which is said to have an “Argo” style tone.

The story deals with the team that hunted down and captured Adolf Eichmann, one of the major architects of the Holocaust. He organized the transport of Jews from countries all over Europe to concentration camps. He fled to Argentina at the end of the war, and was eventually caught by the Mossad in 1960. Having scored multiple Pixar films from “The Incredibles” to “Inside Out,” composer Michael Giacchino is now jumping departments and is set to bring his skill over to “Zootopia,” his first feature at Walt Disney Animation. Featuring an 80-piece orchestra and conductor Tim Simonec, Giacchino’s score is being recorded this week. [Source: Disney Pictures]

With Marvel’s “Ant-Man” set to hit home video on December 8th, the studio has now released both of the movie’s credits stingers in full HD – the first involving Evangeline Lilly’s new Wasp prototype suit, the second teasing the events of “Captain America: Civil War” next year.
