News Bits: Limitless, Focus, Hit, Darkmouth

CBS has officially ordered the pilot for the already reported on new TV series based on the 2011 Bradley Cooper feature “Limitless”. Neil Burger will serve as an executive producer and direct the pilot episode.

In the series, a man takes an experimental drug that allows him to use 100% of his brain capacity. He becomes coerced into using his amazing new abilities to solve cases every week for the FBI. [Source: Deadline]

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures have announced that Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s con artist caper film “Focus” will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and released into domestic IMAX theatres on February 27th.

Will Smith and Margot Robbie star in the story of a seasoned con man who becomes romantically involved with a novice. He abruptly breaks it off. Years later, she’s an accomplished femme fatale who shows up whilst he is in the midst of his latest and very dangerous scheme. [Source: IMAX]

Comic book writer Mark Millar has revealed that, at one time, “The Raid” director Gareth Evans has discussed potentially helming a Hit-Girl spinoff film. However Evans now too busy. Last year, Chloe Grace Moretz revealed she was done playing Hit-Girl. [Source: IGN]

Alcon Entertainment has acquired film rights to Irish author Shane Hegarty’s comedic fantasy-adventure novels “Darkmouth”. Simon Brooks and Kira Davis will produce.

The series tells the story of the last town on Earth where monsters still invade. Finn, the twelve-year-old son of the last remaining hunter, must prepare for an epic battle to defeat the Legends as their leader plans a major attack on Earth.
