The Jungle Book

A Futile and Stupid Gesture
Will Forte is attached to portray Doug Kenney, one of the co-founders of comedy magazine and brand National Lampoon, in the upcoming $15-20 million film “A Futile and Stupid Gesture” which “Wet Hot American Summer” co-creator David Wain will direct and which is in negotiations to land at Netflix.

Michael Colton and John Aboud have adapted Josh Karp’s 2006 book and are executive producing with Ed Helms. Kenney, who became a co-writer on “Animal House” and “Caddyshack,” began to dabble in drugs and booze – ultimately found dead at the bottom of a cliff at the age of 33. Filming begins in April.
