In the Heart of the Sea
Ron Howard is deep in the midst of post-production on “In the Heart of the Sea,” the true story tale about the 90-day isolation of a whaling ship at sea in 1820 after an encounter with a sperm whale – the story that inspired Moby Dick. Chris Hemsworth leads the cast and the photo showcases a shaggy haired Hemsworth on a video screen as Howard is editing the film. [Source: Twitter]

Noah Oppenheim (“The Maze Runner”) will pen the film adaptation of the first half of “Allegiant,” the third book in Veronica Roth’s popular “Divergent” young adult novel series. “Allegiant: Part 1” will be the third film in the series.

The second film, “Insurgent,” is still shooting in Atlanta but “Allegiant: Part 1” has already been earmarked for a March 18th 2016 release. Oppenheim is only signed for ‘Part 1’ right now. [Source: THR]

Fifty Shades of Grey
Author E.L. James has confirmed that the first trailer for the film adaptation of her erotic thriller novel “Fifty Shades of Grey” will go online on July 24th, the first full day of Comic Con. It’ll likely be attached to Universal’s “Lucy”. [Source: Twitter]

The Pyramid
20th Century Fox has set a December 5th release date this year for “The Pyramid,” the Gregory Levasseur-directed horror story about a team of American archaeologists who unearth an ancient pyramid buried beneath the Egyptian desert.

As they search it, they become hopelessly lost in its dark and endless catacombs where something is hunting them. Ashley Hinshaw, Denis O’Hare, and James Buckley star. [Source: Box-Office Mojo]
