The Florida Project
A24 has given an October 6th awards season release date for “Tangerine” director Sean Baker’s “The Florida Project”. Willem Dafoe, Caleb Landry Jones, Brooklynn Prince and Bria Vinaite co-star.
The story follows a young girl and her troubled mother living in a Sunshine State motel after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival Directors’ Fortnight. [Source: Variety]
Woody Allen’s “Wonder Wheel”, a drama set in Coney Island during the 1950s, has set a December 1st 2017 release date – putting it up against James Franco’s “The Disaster Artist”. Amazon Studios is serving as the distributor. [Source: Variety]
Circle of Treason
Massy Tadjedin (“Last Night”) has been set to direct the political thriller “Circle Of Treason” for Focus Features. Anna Waterhouse & Joe Shrapnel penned the script while Barry Josephson is producing.
The story follows two women in the CIA who suspect there is a mole working there, but they have to overcome the institution’s hierarchy, and chauvinism, to bring down a traitor in their midst. [Source: Deadline
Former Doctor Who showrunner, Russell T. Davis, appeared at the British LGBT Awards this week and confirmed to Andy Vision that the actor playing the next incarnation of The Doctor has been officially cast. Davies says: “I do know who it is.”
Josh Brolin has been having fun on social media today, posting a photo of himself seemingly with his Cable character haircut for the “Deadpool” sequel which begins shooting before the month is out. He’s also posted a shot of himself dressed as his “The Goonies” character for a 1980s-themed costume party.
