Blade Runner 2049
Speaking with Empire this week, actor Ryan Gosling offered a brief comment about the setting of Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming sci-fi sequel “Blade Runner 2049”. As part of the article, a new photo has been released, while Gosling said:
“The world has become more brutal. People are trying to survive. [My character] discovers a mystery that makes him question his own identity, and Deckard is the only one who can answer those questions.” [Source: Empire]
Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men,” “Drive”) has been cast in NBC’s upcoming drama series “Good Girls” which will reshoot its pilot this Fall and will debut midseason. Hendricks takes over a role that was originally set for Kathleen Rose Perkins.
The story follows three suburban moms, tired of trying to make ends meet, who decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket at toy gunpoint. [Source: Variety]
Untitled Swan Lake Project
Universal Pictures has become the studio that has won the rights to Luca Guadagnino’s untitled film based on a non-ballet version of “Swan Lake” which has Felicity Jones attached to star.
Kristina Lauren Anderson penned the script with Universal beating out Paramount for the rights. [Source: Variety]
Mary Steenburgen is set to join Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda and Candice Bergen in Bill Holderman’s currently in pre-production directorial debut “Book Club”.
Based on an original script by Holderman and Erin Simms, the California-set story revolves around four lifelong friends – successful and intelligent women – who read “50 Shades Of Grey” in their monthly book club and have their lives forever changed. [Source: Deadline]
Avengers: Infinity War
A couple more set photos from the final few days of “Avengers: Infinity War” filming in Atlanta have gone online, these ones with scenes featuring Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. More details on the new film are expected to be revealed this weekend at the D23 convention in Anaheim
