The first set photos are out of Colin Firth reprising his role as Mark Darcy for Sharon Maguire’s upcoming “Bridget Jones’ Baby” at Working Title. This third film in the series sees Renee Zellweger reprising the title role alongside Firth and Patrick Dempsey. [Source: The Irish Examiner]

Happy Sad Confused recently conducted a one hour conversation with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro in which they asked him about the possibility of a third “Hellboy”. He says that though he and actor Ron Perlman would love to do it, there’s no studio interest – “No one is knocking.”

Focus Features has picked up former journo Matt King’s oil-themed thriller spec script “Boomtown” with Marc Platt set to produce.

The story follows a slick corporate investigator with a closely guarded secret who discovers a sinister criminal conspiracy in North Dakota oil boom country. [Source: Deadline]

The Family Fang
Starz has scored U.S. distribution rights to the Jason Bateman-directed family drama “The Family Fang” with plans for a 2016 theatrical release through Starz Digital. Based on Kevin Wilson’s novel, the script hs been adapted by David Lindsay-Abaire.

The story follows adult siblings Baxter (Jason Bateman) and Annie (Nicole Kidman) who, scarred from an unconventional upbringing, return to their family home when their parents (Christopher Walken and Maryann Plunkett) go missing under troubling circumstances. [Source: Deadline]

Met Gala Heist
New Line has picked up Gregg Rossen and Brian Sawyer’s spec script “Met Gala Heist,” a heist movie set at the star-studded annual NYC Met Gala.

The story focuses on a pair of sisters who employ an all-female crew to pull off a heist during the fundraising gala which is for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. [Source: Variety]
