Following on from the success of his recent directorial effort “I, Simon” and the continuing strong run of his various DC shows on The CW, a new trailer is out for Greg Berlanti’s latest work – a TV series adaptation of Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel “You”.
Written by Berlanti and Sera Gamble, the 21st century love story follows a brilliant bookstore manager who crosses paths with an aspiring writer. Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Shay Mitchell, Luca Padovan and Zach Cherry star.
Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo and Marcos Siega serve as executive producers while Lee Toland Krieger directs the premiere. “You” premieres Sunday, September 9th on Lifetime.
Also out today is the trailer for “Fabled,” a new anthology series that upends patriarchal norms of classic fairy tales. Jennifer Morrison (“Once Upon a Time”) directs the pilot “Anodyne” which explores the idea of Alice (Zosia Mamet) from “Alice in Wonderland” and Dorthy Gale (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) crossing paths.
These creative young women crave adventure and dream bigger than what the world tells them is acceptable. After meeting at an extensive behavioral therapy center, they find solace and fortitude in one another. The first episode will premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
Finally, Bruce Willis has been set as the next target of Comedy Central’s traditional roast. The special will take place in Los Angeles with the tape and airdate to be announced at a later date. In a statement, Willis says: “This ain’t the first time I’ll be tied to a chair and held hostage by a group of humorless assholes for a couple hours.”
