A couple of key TV clips today starting with the new opening titles for the ninth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”. Boasting the most significant change of the show’s titles since it began, this confirms reports that the series will be undergoing a mini-reboot with its new season and new showrunner along with the exits of long-time cast members Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan.
The story is set a year-and-a-half after the war between Team Grimes and the Saviors, and survivors are now in rebuilding mode.
Next up comes a featurette in which director Mike Flanagan takes you on a tour showing off the effort it has taken to produce Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s “The Haunting of Hill House”.
The clip shows off the difficulty in creating anxiety and fear across what is a ten-hour story. Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Timothy Hutton, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Kate Siegel and Victoria Pedretti lead the cast of the series which premieres October 12th.
Finally the first trailer with actual footage is out for ABC’s “Roseanne” spin-off series “The Conners”. The spin-off sees the Conners forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. The premiere airs October 16th.
