A couple of trailers today for some smaller films opening up in the near future.
First is yet another trailer for the Keanu Reeves-led sci-fi thriller “Replicas”. That follows a neuroscientist on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a computer when his family is tragically killed in a car crash. Thomas Middleditch, Alice Eve, and John Ortiz co-star.
Next is the Mia Wasikowska and Christopher Abbott-led “Piercing” which follows a married everyday man who plans to kill an unsuspecting prostitute in his hotel room – but she has other plans for him. Nicolas Pesce (“The Eyes of My Mother”) helms the film.
Then there’s “The Intruder,” the psychological stalker thriller which follows a young married couple buys their dream house in Napa Valley, unaware that the previous owner has a deadly plan to get his property back. The casting is interesting here with Michael Ealy and Meagan Good as the couple while the one and only Dennis Quaid is the bad guy. The film opens April 29th.
Finally, there’s a new trailer for Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerra’s “Birds of Passage” which is Colombia’s official entry for the Foreign Language Film Oscar race. The film is slated for release February 13th in New York and Los Angeles with a national rollout to follow.
Tracing the origins of the Colombian drug trade as it slowly corrupts a native Wayuu family, the film stars Jose Acosta, Carmina Martínez and Natalia Reyes.
