A couple of key trailer releases today kicking off with the Bryan Cranston-led drug cartel drama “The Infiltrator”. The former “Breaking Bad” star plays a federal agent who goes undercover into Pablo Escobar’s cartel in the Brad Furman-directed drama which also stars Diane Kruger, John Leguizamo, and Benjamin Bratt. It opens July 15th.
Next up, 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have released the red-band trailer for their upcoming raunchy comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” starring Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick, Adam DeVine and Aubrey Plaza. The film opens July 8th.
DeVine and Efron play the hard-partying brothers who place an online ad to find the perfect dates (Kendrick, Plaza) for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding. Hoping for a wild getaway, the boys instead find themselves outsmarted and out-partied by the uncontrollable duo.
Thirdly comes the trailer for filmmaker Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow’s new documentary “De Palma”. The pair conducted around thirty hours of interviews with “Scarface” and “Untouchables” director Brian de Palma who recounts some fascinating and unheard of stories from his time behind the camera. A24 opens the film in limited release on June 10th.
Finally, there’s the new UK trailer for Liza Johnson’s “Elvis and Nixon” opening Friday. Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon play President Richard Nixon and Elvis Presley respectively in the film about the unofficial meeting between the pair. Colin Hanks, Johnny Knoxville, Evan Peters and Alex Pettyfer also star.
