The Weinstein Company changed the awards season race last year – moving its Michael Keaton-led drama “The Founder” from a November 2015 release to an opening on August 5th this year.
Keaton plays Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois who saw franchise potential in a small 1950s Southern California business called McDonalds. He positioned himself in a way that he was able to pull the company out from the brothers who owned it, and in the process created a billion-dollar empire.
Nick Offerman, Linda Cardellini, Laura Dern, BJ Novak, and John Caroll Lynch also star in the film with the first trailer for it released today. Check it out below:
