It has been a busy few days for promo trailers for new TV series and new seasons of existing shows.
First up, a full trailer for the second season of the darkly comedic and critically acclaimed assassin-spy drama “Killing Eve” which returns April 7th. The relationship between MI5 agent Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) and deadly assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) rolls on and the clip also finally confirms the return of Sean Delaney as Kenny.
Netflix has released another full promo for “Ultraman,” Production IG’s upcoming animated series based on Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi’s manga take on the iconic Tokusatsu series. The show is slated to premiere on April 1st.
The story follows Shinjiro Hayata, a teen tasked with donning the Ultra suit by his father, who himself used to protect the world as the legendary Ultraman. When an alien threat returns to menace Earth, Shinjiro finds himself unsure if he’s worthy of his father’s legacy or capable of even wielding the incredible power Ultraman has.
Next comes the first teaser trailer for AMC’s summer supernatural horror series “NOS4A2” based on the Joe Hill novel. Zachary Quinto plays Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children he traps in a dark Xmas-themed world of his imagining. Ashleigh Cummings plays a young, working-class artist in New England who has the ability to track him.
The YouTube Premium series “Cobra Kai”, which re-ignited the rivalry in the 1984 movie “The Karate Kid,” returns with Daniel and Johnny facing off again. As the pair train a younger generation, there’s still bad blood between them that needs to be sorted out.
Spike Lee’s Netflix TV series adaptation of his early work “She’s Gotta Have It” returns for a second season on May 24th. DeWanda Wise, Anthony Ramos, Ilfenesh Hadera, Cleo Anthony, Lyriq Bent, Margot Bingham, Chyna Layne, and Fat Joe all return for new adventures with Nola Darling in a gentrified Brooklyn, as she juggles relationships and her blossoming art career.
Starz has released the official trailer for “The Spanish Princess,” the third series based on Philippa Gregory’s bestselling novels following “The White Queen” and “The White Princess”. The original limited series will premiere Sunday, May 5th.
Returning to the world of Tudor royal court intrigue, The Spanish Princess is told from the point of view of the women, which also sheds light on a previously untold corner of history: the lives of people of color, living and working in 16th century London.
The first trailer for Epix’s ten-episode original series “Perpetual Grace, LTD” has arrived, the project hailing from “Patriot” mastermind Steve Conrad and Bruce Terris. Ben Kingsley, Jimmi Simpson and Jacki Weaver star in the series which premieres June 2nd.
The story follows a young grifter, as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown (Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than James suspects as he and his wife have used religion to bilk hundreds of innocent people out of their life savings.
Finally, Netflix has officially announced a March 29th premiere date for the upcoming second season of their coming-of-age drama series “On My Block”. The announcement comes with a new clip, highlighting the unfortunate consequences of gang violence on the children of the show’s South Central neighborhood setting.
