Following the announcement of Sony Pictures landing the film last week and further details about the financial and contractual side of the agreement on the weekend, new plot details for Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film have now emerged.
Vanity Fair has revealed the first plot details for the 1969-set movie from a source that reportedly has read the script. They explain a little what the story is about:
“Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick – who’s also his stunt double – is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.”
This is all taking place as the real Charles Manson died in prison yesterday at the age of 83. Margot Robbie is currently the frontrunner to portray the slain Sharon Tate. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio are all being considered for the two leads.
